What service options are available?
I provide packages for my services with students. For a basic service there is a 3 or 6 one-hour individual session option. For more in-depth one-on-one counseling I provide a grade-level package that is over the course of their school year, the summer, and/or into their following school year. The grade-level package is 12 one-hour sessions with unlimited research hours for the students and parents. However, if parents or students don't want to commit I offer a one time fee of $65 per 1 hour session. For further pricing please contact me.
How do I implement my services?
I meet with students either virtually (through skype, zoom) or in person. If I meet with students in person I either meet them at their house or at the local library or coffee shop. Most of everything I do with students and parents is on a computer. If a student does not have access to a computer please let me know that way I can accommodate when we work together.
What role do I play for parents?
I am a parent's personal assistant and resource when it comes to the college planning and high school planning process. I answer any questions you may have and I strive to diffuse any overwhelmed feelings a parent may have regarding their child's next step. If I don't know the answer, I will tell you BUT research and call whom I need to to find you the correct answer.
What role do I play for students?
I am a student's coach, mentor, guide, and resource during their college planning process. I strive to mediate their goals with the goals of their parents and I work diligently with each student to empower their decisions and knowledge regarding their next step in life.
Do you provide payment plans?
Yes. I work with the parent's budget. What works for you will work for me.
Do you provide sibling discounts?
Yes. If you have twins (as I'm a twin and understand what parents of twins have to endure) I offer a 50% discount on grade-level packages for one twin. In other words, payment for twins would be 1 1/2 for 2 packages. If you have an upper classperson and lower classperson I'm happy to provide a 25% discount on a grade-level package for one student.
Do you provide a discount if I'm hired for more than one school year?
Yes. I can offer 30% off a grade-level package should a parent choose to re-hire me for the next year. Or single sessions are reduced to $40/hr.
Should your child take the ACT or the SAT?
That depends on the student. We can talk more about that during a consult. Also, please see my blog that gives a comparison of the ACT and SAT for a basic understanding that may help you further.
