Community First Credit Union #Scholarship

Before his death in 1992, Raymond A Vinson was a nationally recognized credit union pioneer. He helped form more than 40 Florida credit unions (including the Duval County Teachers Credit Union, founded in 1935, now Community First Credit Union of Florida). Vinson's legacy of dedication, compassion and commitment to the credit union movement will forever touch lives. To honor Raymond A. Vinson, Community First annually awards $4,000 in scholarships ($1,000 annually per student, renewable for four years) to five college freshman. Apply by March 1, 2016 to be considered.
Eligible Applicants must:
  • Be a member or dependent of a member of Community First with an account in good standing for at least one year
  • Be an entering college freshman student and under the age of 24 at the application deadline
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and financial need
  • Attend a two-or four-year public or private accredited Florida college or university
  • Have a high school grade point average of at least 3.0 (unweighted) plus a minimum ACT score of 24 or SAT score of 1,110.
  • Fill out and return the scholarship application to the nearest branch location by March 1, 2016
  • Recipient may continue the scholarship on an annual basis until graduation, not to exceed four years. A GPA of at least 2.5 freshman year and 3.0 each succeeding year are required for continued eligibility

Click here to find information and the application for the 2016 Northeast Florida Engineers Week Scholarship. 
 
Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors planning to major in engineering in college in the fall of 2016.  An additional scholarship from the Society of Military Engineers will also be selected from the applications received.
 
The requirements are listed in the application.
 
Application must be received by 5:00 PM (EST) February 1, 2016.  Details of the application process are provided with the application.

Jax UCF Alumni Club Scholarship

One $250 award to a UCF student who has freshman class standing (0-29 credit hours) in fall 2016, and who is a permanent resident of Duval, Clay, St. Johns or Nassau counties. 
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  1. Have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA AND
  2. Be a permanent resident of Duval, Clay, St. Johns or Nassau counties AND
  3. Have a minimum of 50 volunteer hours during high school (please show on Activities Summary - link below).
REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:
Essay question | Maximum 500 words; include a word count total
How will attending UCF help you achieve your life's goals and shape your future?
Recommendation format required | Recommendation Letter
Academic verification format required | High school transcripts (Please mail sealed, official high school transcripts to: First Coast Knights Scholarship, P.O. Box 160046, Orlando, FL 32816-0046. Transcripts must be postmarked by Feb. 28, 2016.)
